Production of natural and antimicrobial dyes
Dr. Iman Ahmed Mohamed El Khateeb and Dr. Nagwa Farag Ali from the Textile Industries division at the NRC succeeded in producing of natural dyes to dye wool fabrics and protect them from microbes at the same time.The study succeed in extracting a safe natural dye from some desert plants.The experiments have shown that this material has lethal effect on microbes and is also an antioxidants substance used as a preservative and coloring material in food industries instead of harmful chemicals. This can be an important alternative supply for harmful dye industries.
