Comprehensive Integrated Management Program to Sustain Wheat Tolerance to Environmental Stresses in North African Countries
Summary
The major aim of this project is to improve wheat productivity in North African countries by developing appropriate technologies aiming to alleviate major biotic and abiotic stresses such as septoria leaf blotch, salt and drought. A holistic regional approach based on resources evaluation, biochemical, physiological and molecular characterization will be initiated to the benefit of conventional breeding and would release new valuable cultivars. Integrated research approaches based on Biotechnological tools and conventional approaches will be developed. Expected outputs will be validated under field growing conditions.
